I thought I write a quick note on the installation of CF10 on Windows, especially if you want to use IIS7.
Let's say you installed IIS with the most basic setup and the tried to install CF10.
During the setup of CF10 you will be prompted at the web server selection and configuration step to install more Role Services for IIS like this:
You would correctly interpret this to mean:
Install: ASP.NET, ISAPI Extensions and ISAPI Filter like so:
However, this is not quite accurate. Since you still will not be able to proceed.You will also need to add the CGI Role Service.
Best,
B.

Good catch, Bilal, and bummer to see that. I've just looked and don't see anyone having raised that as a bug to Adobe. You can do that at https://bugbase.adobe.com/.
i just checked, and at least the "Installing ColdFusion 10" doc page discussing this does indicate the need to add CGI. (http://help.adobe.com/en_US/ColdFusion/10.0/Installing/WSc3ff6d0ea77859461172e0811cdec18a15-7ffb.html)
Hello, This page help me prove a point that a more dedicated website is needed to help people like my say walk myself through installing ColdFusion behind IIS. Since ADobe, microsoft, Blue River , Oracle , does not want to collaborate on making an OFFICIAL collaborative website on working and using there applications concurrently would you mind telling something close to this?
@Chris:
Matt Woodward does quite a bit of work on concurrent installations.
